My BFA Show work attempts to make tangible my internal monologue, exploring ways to give physical presence to the emotions I feel daily. I have long been inspired by science fiction, fantasy, and the supernatural, seeing in those genres, a way to communicate my thoughts in a way that feels personal to me.  Although occasionally venturing into abstraction, much of my work centers around animal or animal-like figures.

This work is executed in oil paint, a medium that allows me to manipulate color and paint texture both on and off the canvas. Paintings employ highly saturated coloration and sinuous lines as a metaphor for the intensity and speed at which my thoughts flow. In my sculpture practice I channel my real-life experience with handling and observing animals, into representational depictions of characters and creatures.
